Submitting the soils to the test is aimed at determining their geotechnical properties and enabling the proper design of the foundation of the building.
There are several types of soil surveys:
laboratory – in order to specify properties such as: humidity, mechanical properties, apparent density, properties of the soil skeleton, porosity, content of organic parts, granulometric and mineralogical composition,
construction ground reconnaissance by, for example: carrying out soundings, excavations or research holes for profiling,
macroscopic - in situ
a) preliminary - the first assessment of soil moisture, i.e. whether the soil is hydrated, wet, moist or dry,
b) determination of the type of soil (non-cohesive or cohesive) by means of soaking, rolling, grinding tests,
c) naming the color of the ground,
d) determination of CaCO3 content.
